Community Nurse Specialist

As a community specialist nurse you will work across both the Primary & Secondary Care Sectors within an agreed territory, advocating our Ostomy, Continence and Urology products & services through Training & Education. The role will include, where appropriate, Patient & Product reviews and our Home Delivery Service. You will also be required to work closely with colleagues from within the nursing and sales team to ensure successful achievement of company objectives.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The focus of activity will be to work with key target customer groups within an agreed area.
  • Your territory responsibilities will be combined with activities that could potentially be outside of your marked territory boundaries.
  • Working with Product Specialists and other internal customers (SecuriCare Stoma Care Nurse’s/Business Development Team etc) to increase awareness of both CliniMed Ltd products and services and SecuriCare Home Delivery and formulate joint activities where appropriate.
  • Investigating and developing avenues that will help to gain access to new customers for Ostomy, Continence and Urology.
  • Attending appropriate clinical events as required.
  • Maximising opportunities to gain and maintain new customers onto Home Delivery Service.
  • Offer Welland and CliniMed products as choice for all patients where clinically indicated.
  • Provide specialist nursing intervention, ensuring specific needs of individuals are met.
  • Promote patient autonomy where possible through education and support so individuals can make informed choices about their own care.
  • Establish effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals to further develop the service and gain appropriate referrals.
  • Build and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) within the field of ostomy and continence nursing.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with the offer of training, education and sharing best practice with other healthcare professionals.
  • Manage time and other resources efficiently.

Essential:

  • Proven post registration experience
  • NMC Registered
  • Urology/Continence background essential
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility in order to meet patient and service needs
  • Ability to plan, implement and manage own time effectively
  • Dynamic and forward thinking
  • Determination to progress professionally in Stoma/Colorectal/Continence & Urology nursing
  • Full and valid Driving Licence
  • Excellent communication skills, good networker and rapport builder
  • Ability to interrogate data and formulate advice, plans of action and reports
  • Confidence to present a positive image of self and the Company
  • Able to influence others
  • Flexible to meet patient and service needs
  • IT skills, including excel
  • Ability to work autonomously

    Desirable:

    • Stoma or Colorectal background desirable
