Re-investing in patient care
The government pays a fee for all the stoma prescriptions SecuriCare dispense (in the same way as the High Street).
The company uses the money earned in this way to fund SecuriCare
stoma care nurses in hospitals throughout the UK – providing a valuable
service to ostomists.

The stoma service is provided without charge as it is not paid for by the NHS, but is funded by SecuriCare. We are able to do this through the dispensing fees earned by the home delivery service.
SecuriCare stoma care sisters offer a holistic programme of care:
Counselling before surgery
Hospital admission and siting of stoma
Teaching self care of the stoma in hospital after surgery
Discharge with advice and support – and stoma supplies
Home visits plus telephone support
Liaising with other carers and GPs
Local community stoma clinics for on-going support
Professional development
SecuriCare nurses have specialist qualifications in stoma care. They undertake a continual professional development programme to enhance and update their skills.
Quality assurance
The SecuriCare stoma care nursing service is committed to continuous quality improvement measures. As part of this commitment - and actively linking in with the Government's plans for clinical governance - regular patient and staff surveys are carried out.
